The short version: Quiet Movement collects nothing. While a session runs it listens to how loud the room is, on your phone, and uses that level to decide when to answer with a calm pause. It never records, keeps, transcribes or sends any sound. It has no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and it doesn't send anything over the internet.

The microphone

The app asks for the microphone for one purpose: to measure the room's sound level. After you press Start, it reads that level many times a second and compares it with the sensitivity you set. Only the level is used. It is worked out on your phone, held in memory for a moment, and then thrown away.

No audio is recorded or saved, nothing is transcribed or recognised, voices are not identified, and no sound or level ever leaves your phone. When you press Stop, the app stops listening. You can turn the microphone off for Quiet Movement at any time in the iPhone's Settings, and without it the app cannot listen at all.

What stays on your phone

Your settings: the sensitivity of each level, the number of breathing cycles, the length of the full stop and the escalation window. They're saved on your phone so they are there next time. They never leave it, and deleting the app deletes them.

What we collect

Nothing. The app has no account and no sign-in, and it holds no personal information. It contains no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising and no tracking, and no third-party code that sends data anywhere. It makes no network requests. We cannot see who uses it or how.

Apple may give us anonymous, aggregated figures about downloads and crashes through App Store Connect, if you have chosen to share them with developers in your iPhone's settings. That is Apple's service, under Apple's privacy policy.

Children

Quiet Movement collects nothing from anyone, children included.

Changes

If this ever changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top before the app does anything new.
